Producer: Sebastião Aluísio de Sales
Good tidings come to those who work hard. Sebastião Aluísio de Sales, owner of Fazenda do Cedro, agrees. Sebastião’s father-in-law, Edward Rodrigues de Oliveira, employed him to manage Fazenda do Cedro in 1983. After a decade and a half, in 1997, Sebastião took over the Fazenda with the help of a partner, Eduardo Moraes Ferreira.
Sebastião and Eduardo didn’t stop there. Besides the Cedro farm, they purchased other farms: Fazenda Agua Limpa, in 1998, and Fazenda Conquista, in 1999. Today, Sebastião, his wife Karla, and their three children, Rodrigo, Gabriel, and Gustavo, manage the three farms.
You can find Sebastião’s farm amidst the mountains of Ilicínea. Also known as the popular Chapadão region, which borders the Serra da Boa Esperança state park. Ilicínea stands out because of its elevation. The farm sits at 1150 to 1400 m.a.s.l. For Brazil, this is extremely high.
The Natureza lot, has been expertly produced by Sebastião and the team by collecting several days of harvest and blending the single variety into one natural process lot, creating a sweet, clean and slightly fruity coffee with classic characteristics of Brazilian coffee.

Ethiopia Natural Awash River
About This Coffee
Awash River is a curated coffee sourced from smallholder farmers serviced by the river Awash in the Sidamo region of southern Ethiopia. These farmers rely on the great river and its many tributaries to cultivate coffee and sustain their communities. The Awash carves through almost 750 miles of Ethiopia’s great rift valley, providing a vital water source for millions. Archaeologists believe humans have lived along the river since the dawn of man. Known as “the cradle of humankind”, the middle Awash is home to some of the most important archaeological discoveries in history, including perhaps the most famous hominid fossil ever found: “Lucy”. In a poetic twist, Ethiopia is also the birthplace of the arabica coffee tree. As farmers started to harvest the wild forest coffee of Southern Ethiopia they in turn began to cultivate them on their own land. Nevertheless, wild coffee can still be found throughout Ethiopia and is represented by thousands of distinct varieties, many of which are still cultivated by farmers in Sidamo to this day.
